Rebirthing
Rebirthing is more of a therapy than a healing modality. Focussed breathing is the main technique employed by the practitioner. Through this continuous focused breathing, deep reflection and self awareness is achieved. This in turn provides a framework of understanding about the inner feelings of the patient, inner feelings that could be masked by the sub conscious.
It is said that tension is released with a clearer understanding of the source of problems, that with this release an attainment of a state of deep peace and total relaxation is achieved. This inturn leads to personal growth and positive changes in health, self-esteem and consciousness. Also called “breath work this type of therapy has been embraced by a number of members of the mental health community as an effective intervention for depression and other psychological impairments.
Breath Work
Breath Work is touted as a pathway to self awareness and inner peace. Practitioners assist patients by teaching breathing techniques which are designed to discover and clear emotional blockages. These blocks are said to prevent patients from growing emotionally and spiritually.
Breath Work is also said to promote vitality and well being by creating the right conditions for healing. The outcome invariably is a renewed passion for life, clarity and self confidence.
Buteyko Breathing Technique
Buteyko Breathing Techniques a modality that teaches patients how to manage their breathing.
Practitioners assess patient breathing patterns and recommend alternative healthful alternatives for breathing which promote and restore comfortable natural breathing.
Buteyko works to correct poor posture and rhythm habits which are thought to be major contributing factors to poor breath work.
Holotropic Breath Work
Holotropic Breath work is all about moving towards wholeness in healing. The modality combines a number of healing practices into a powerful approach to self-exploration and healing.
The process combines accelerated breathing with music. Patients lay on a mat, using breath work and music to enter a meditative state of consciousness. This meditative state activates harmony and regulates the energy centres or meridians of the body thus supporting the natural inner healing process of the individual.
Energy release work is also part of this integrative process where patients team up with one another one in a supporting role and one breather, the watcher who supports the breather by managing the environment and insuring there are no interruptions or other distractions.
