A Japanese tourist takes a cab in Delhi, but the real surprise comes when the driver reveals the secret to his fast ride.
A tourist from Japan hopped into a cab in central Delhi and asked to be taken to the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
As they drove, a sleek car sped past them. The tourist leaned forward excitedly and said, “Wow! Toyota—Japanese engineering! So fast!”
Moments later, another car zoomed by. “Nissan! Also from Japan. Incredibly fast!” he exclaimed.
Soon after, a third vehicle raced past. “Ah! Mitsubishi. Japan makes speedy cars!”
The Indian taxi driver, starting to get irritated by the constant remarks, kept quiet. As they neared the airport, yet another car zipped by.
“Honda! Japanese speed strikes again!” the tourist grinned.
Finally arriving, the driver stopped and said, “That’ll be 500 rupees.”
The tourist’s eyes widened. “Five hundred? For such a short ride?”
With a calm smile, the driver pointed at the meter and replied, “That meter? Indian made. Very fast too.”
