Diagnostics
There are many diagnostic tests available to help identify why you may not be feeling your best. Many of these tests can be ordered through your GP or integrative medical practitioner.
You also have the option to order any of the following diagnostics directly from our lab. Once you receive your results, please bring them to your next appointment.
Coeliac Check Buy here
This blood test measures antibodies (Transglutaminase IgA, Deamidated Gliadin Antibodies, Total IgA) produced in response to gluten. It helps identify coeliac disease, which is characterized by a negative reaction to gluten. A negative result doesn’t rule out coeliac disease; further testing, such as a small intestine biopsy, may be needed.
Intestinal Permeability (Leaky Gut) Check Buy here
This urine test assesses gut barrier function by measuring the recovery of synthetic sugar and mannitol. A high recovery ratio indicates ‘leaky gut’, where large molecules penetrate the gut lining and appear in the urine.
Parasite PCR Check Buy here
This stool test uses PCR to detect genetic material from a wide range of pathogens, including bacteria and parasites, such as:
- Bacteria: Salmonella, Campylobacter, Shigella, Yersinia enterocolitica, Aeromonas, Plesiomonas
- Parasites: Giardia intestinalis, Cryptosporidium, Dientamoeba fragilis, Entamoeba histolytica, Blastocystis hominis
Helicobacter Pylori Buy here
This stool test detects H. pylori antigen, indicating an active infection in the stomach.
SIBO Check Buy here
This breath test measures hydrogen and methane levels to diagnose small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). It includes:
- Glucose Breath Test: Measures peak hydrogen and methane levels.
- Lactulose Breath Test: Measures oro-caecal transit time and hydrogen increase.
Gut Inflammation Buy here
This stool test measures calprotectin levels, which indicate inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract, helping differentiate between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Pancreatic Function Buy here
This blood test measures pancreatic enzymes, lipase, and amylase, which help digest fats and starches, respectively.
Pancreatic Insufficiency Check Buy here
If you’re experiencing signs of malabsorption, stomach cramps, weight loss, malnutrition, or loose fatty stools, pancreatic insufficiency could be to blame. Pancreatic insufficiency is the inability of the pancreas to deliver enough digestive enzymes to break down food in the intestine for absorption. This Stool test measures:
- Pancreatic Elastase 1: Assesses pancreatic exocrine function, reflecting the activity of pancreatic enzymes (trypsin, chymotrypsin, amylase, and lipase).
Digestive Stool Analysis – Level 4+ Buy here
The CDSA Level 4+ is the most comprehensive stool assessment available for evaluating digestive, absorption, metabolic, inflammation, and tumor ulcer markers. It’s recommended for individuals with gut-related symptoms such as IBS, indigestion, dysbiosis, constipation, and diarrhea.
Microbiome Testing Buy here
Assess the diversity and health of your gut microbiome. Most DNA in your stool is from microorganisms, divided into bacteria, archaea, eukaryotes, and viruses. The report details species diversity, metabolic potential, neuroendocrine production, inflammation potential, and more, comparing your profile to healthy individuals.
Essential Fatty Acids Check Buy here
Measure the levels and ratios of essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids in your blood. An ideal ratio is 2:1, but the typical Western diet is 16:1, contributing to inflammation and diseases. The test includes the Omega 3 Index, Omega 6 to Omega 3 Ratio, AA to EPA Ratio, and Trans Fat Index.
FODMAP Check Buy here
Identify malabsorption of dietary sugars like lactose and fructose, which can cause IBS symptoms. Breath tests measure hydrogen/methane production after sugar intake. Positive results guide dietary adjustments to relieve symptoms.
Allergy Check Buy here
Detect allergies through blood tests measuring IgE levels and specific allergens from foods, dust, animal hair, and pollen. Elevated IgE levels indicate a hyperallergic tendency, and specific allergen tests identify individual sensitivities.
Food Intolerance testing Buy here
Screen for IgG antibodies to 96 foods using the ELISA method, covering eggs, dairy, grains, nuts, seafood, meats, vegetables, fruits, herbs, and spices. The test also checks for Candida albicans response.
Adrenal fatigue test Buy here
Assess cortisol and DHEA-S hormone levels to evaluate stress management. Cortisol levels fluctuate throughout the day, so four saliva samples are collected to track the daily pattern. Imbalances can indicate prolonged stress effects on health.
Heavy Metal Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis Buy here
This test identifies toxic elements (e.g., lead, mercury, cadmium) and evaluates essential and non-essential minerals in your hair. Hair reflects your body’s mineral levels over the past 1-3 months, making it an ideal medium for detecting long-term exposure. It provides insights into nutrient and toxin imbalances, which can be linked to health issues. The report includes a detailed analysis of 40 elements, including 26 nutrients and 14 toxic metals, presented in a graph format showing levels compared to normal ranges.
Organic Acids Check Buy here
Evaluates metabolites to provide insights into your body’s metabolic processes. It identifies nutrient deficiencies, evaluates mitochondrial function, assesses gut health and dysbiosis, monitors detoxification pathways, and detects neurotransmitter imbalances and oxidative stress.
