Newly Retired Mom

While browsing a store, my mother received assistance from a saleswoman who approached her.

Mom acknowledged that she didn’t have any specific item in mind, and they began conversing.

Promptly, the saleswoman discovered that Mom was retired.

Intrigued, she admitted her own contemplation of retirement.

Mom wasted no time in expressing her satisfaction with not working anymore and assured the saleswoman that she would also find joy in it.

Eventually, persuaded by Mom’s enthusiasm, the saleswoman inquired, “How long have you been retired?”

To which Mom responded, “Today is my very first day of retirement.”
