Ingredients

For the mint tea

  • 1 ice cube tray for 10 – 12 ice cubes – pre-cool without contents in the freezer
  • 600 ml of water for tea preparation
  • 3 bags of Moroccan mint tea
  • Alpine herbal tea (ready-to-drink)
  • 2 cocktail or long drink glasses
  • 10 leaves of Moroccan mint
  • 2 organic limes – cut 4 wafer-thin slices from each and halve; squeeze the rest
  • 2 tablespoons yacon syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder

Instructions

Mint tea is the national drink of Morocco and is mainly made with green tea. For our cocktail version, however, we used Alpine herbal tea as a ready-to-drink drink, Moroccan mint, lime and cardamom. A delicious, refreshing cocktail – ideal for hot summer days.

Step 1

For the mint tea, boil 600 ml of water in a kettle. Then put 3 tea bags in a heat-resistant container and pour the water over them. Leave to steep for 5 – 7 minutes, remove the bags, let the tea cool down first, then leave to cool in the fridge.

Step 2

Take the ice cube tray out of the freezer and fill the Alpine herbal tea into the cavities in equal parts. Then place the tray in the freezer for 2 hours (alternatively, prepare the tea the night before).

Step 3

Add 5 mint leaves, the juice of one lime1 tablespoon of yacon syrup and ½ teaspoon of cardamom to each glass and mix well.

Step 4

Then add the ice cubes and pour the cold tea over it. Put half of the lime slices into each glass, stir well again with a long-handled spoon and enjoy.
