The cabbage soup is known as a fat burner, a lightning diet for quick weight loss.
For the cabbage soup, put all the ingredients – except for the parsley and the green of the spring onions – in a large saucepan and bring to the boil; lightly salt.
Reduce the heat and let the soup simmer gently for about 1 hour. Then remove the bay leaf, fold in the spring onion greens and season with salt and pepper.
Serve the cabbage soup and sprinkle with 4 tablespoons of chopped parsley to enjoy.
